A new year is quickly approaching, and you are scrambling to think up a few ways in which you can improve your life in 2022. Without a doubt, many of you will be swearing off alcohol, promising to eat better, and signing up with a local gym to get more exercise. And while it is admirable that you want to improve your lifestyle, we think you should also learn to enjoy more of your surroundings this coming year as well. You see, Northern Colorado is a beautiful place to live, but most people take what we have to offer here for granted. 2022 is the year when you can get out and enjoy what Northern Colorado has to offer.
Charming Old Town
Old Town Fort Collins is a charming and entertaining destination where you can spend the entire day and still not do everything you would like. On any given weekend there is usually a special event happening in Old Town. And even if there isn’t a community event, there are still plenty of shops, restaurants, and other activities to enjoy. Best of all, there is plenty of parking.

A typical day in Old Town would likely start with breakfast or just a cup of coffee. If you are feeling a bit peckish, The Silver Grill Cafe is a great way to start your day. Sure, it’s going to be busy, and you might have to wait to get a table, but it is certainly worth it. If all you need is a cup of your morning pick-me-up, then you might want to stop in at the Starry Night Espresso Cafe. Their coffee is amazing, to be sure, but you may want to check out the bakery selections as well.
Your next stop should be the Museum of Art Fort Collins, housed in one of the many historic Old Town Buildings on College Avenue. Past exhibitions have included individual artists and the works they have created, exhibitions that spotlight art history, and art displays created with uncommon mediums. The shows change up on a regular basis, so there is always something new to explore.
After a delectable lunch at The Crown Pub ( we recommend the Guinness Beef Stew), you can enjoy the afternoon shopping at great destinations that include The Cupboard, Curiosities, and The Wright Life. After dinner at any number of dining choices, enjoy the nightlife at one of the many bars in Old Town.

DESIGN AN OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE THAT BRINGS YOU CLOSER TOGETHER

Benson Sculpture Garden
Who knew that checking out a sculpture garden could be so fun? Benson Sculpture Garden is located in Loveland just east of 29th st. and Taft ave. The park is open to the public, and it costs nothing to walk through and check out the artwork. There are over 170 sculptures in the garden representing local artists as well as artists from around the country. The garden includes numerous amenities to make your experience more enjoyable. We recommend that you pack a lunch as it will take some time to enjoy all of the pieces.
Union Colony Civic Center
The Union Colony Civic Center is one of Northern Colorado’s finest performing arts venues. The venue proudly hosts local and regional events, including concerts, plays, and comedy shows, among others. Upcoming shows include Air Supply, which will take you back to the 1970s and the days of your youth, a tribute to Aretha Franklin by the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, and a musical of An Officer and a Gentleman featuring an iconic score that includes Steve Winwood, Pat Benatar, and the band Yes.

Find a Food Truck
Northern Colorado has become one of the hippest places in the country, and the proof is in the fact we have a huge food truck scene. Northern Colorado is home to dozens and dozens of food trucks delivering everything from tacos to kettle corn to lobster rolls. Whatever you are craving at the moment, there is sure to be a food truck nearby that will quell your hunger.
The Waffle Lab offers hand-breaded chicken tenders and waffles complete with Vermont maple syrup and a local bratwurst made with Fort Collins own New Belgium 1554 Black Ale. If you are craving Greek food, Mile High Lobster Shack offers up wild-caught lobster and organic ingredients for their famous lobster rolls. Finally, Steamy Weiners offers, well, they offer wieners with just about every possible topping. It’s something you have to check out for yourself.
Get Off Your Patio For The Day
We know how much you enjoy spending time in your outdoor space. And while spending a day on your concrete patio is a great way to enjoy your time, it’s also good to get out and explore this wonderful area. There is so much to do in Northern Colorado that you could spend an entire day each weekend visiting these locations and never get through all of them. So please get out there and support our local businesses.
